title
Approval of and authorization to execute Amendment Number 1 to agreement with Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) for the construction of Industrial Access Project, Project Number J3-3585(004), Job Piece Number 33585(04) pertaining to the City of Broken Arrow project - Nashville Street Industrial Collector Road and Waterline (Project Number ED1701)

Background:
On August 1, 2017, the City of Broken Arrow (COBA) entered into an Economic Development Agreement with Alfa Laval to construct an industrial access road and new 12" waterline in the Nashville Street right-of-way east of 9th Street. In conjunction with the aforementioned Economic Development Agreement, ODOT and the COBA then entered into a subsequent Financial Assistance Agreement on February 6, 2018, in which ODOT would reimburse the COBA up to $800,000 for the surfacing and other related costs to assist in construction of Nashville Street.

Through the efforts of the City, combined with those of Alfa Laval, the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation, the State of Oklahoma has generously agreed to increase its contribution from the original $800,000 to a total of $1,400,000. This increase is due to the overwhelming economic benefit that Alfa Laval will bring, not only to the city of Broken Arrow but also to the state of Oklahoma as a whole.

Therefore, ODOT has agreed to amend our Financial Assistance Agreement and by adding an additional contribution of $600,000, which will now raise the State's total contribution for the roadway surfacing and other related items to $1,400,000.
