Presentation by the Tulsa City-County Library Staff to announce the results of the 2018 Summer Reading Program challenge

End

Background:

At the May 15, 2018 City Council meeting, staff from the Tulsa City-County Library presented their summer reading program and encouraged Broken Arrow children to participate. This yearly program helps kids retain and enhance reading skills over the summer. The 2018 program ran from May 29th to August 4th.

The Broken Arrow City Council accepted Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum’s friendly challenge to see which community had the highest percentage of children enrolled in Tulsa City-County Library’s Summer Reading Program.

Library staff will announce the winner of the competition who will receive a special plaque to display for the year, as well as bragging rights for earning the distinction as a community of active readers.
