Background:

The National League of Cities requires each member city to designate a voting delegate and an alternate to vote on business matters before its annual congress.  Historically, Council has appointed the Mayor, Vice Mayor or City Manager to the delegate position, however any official may be designated. This year neither the Vice-Mayor nor the City Manager will be attending the conference. This year’s meeting is scheduled for Saturday, November 10, 2018 in Los Angeles, California.
