Background:
The Police Department is requesting that the City accept the quote from Axon for the purchase of 28 Taser X2’s w/ accessories. The Taser X2’s are being purchased as replacements for aging Taser X26’s, which are being discontinued by the manufacturer. Axon, formally Taser International is a sole source vendor and manufacturer of the Taser X2’s. (Solo source letter attached.) Funding for $36,000 has been budgeted in the Sales Tax Capital Improvement fund 30, project # 193002.
