Consideration, discussion, and possible approval of Leadership Broken Arrow Class 2018 Group 4 Master Plan for new patio area at The Main Place and authorization to proceed with construction
End

Background:
Leadership Broken Arrow (LBA) Class 2018 Group 4 for its class project decided to provide Broken Arrow Seniors Inc. with Master Plan concept drawings to improve the patio area, located at the Westside courtyard at The Main Place facility. The master plan drawings have been completed by Architect 9 and Richard Brenner Architects.
It is the intention of LBA to complete a portion of the improvements of the master plan. It is estimated that the total project will take between 3-5 years to complete by volunteers. Phase 1 of the project will be completed by end of calendar year 2018. The scope of the work for Phase 1 includes but not limited to: Concrete patio extension, games (cornhole and horseshoes) and some new plant material.
It is proposed that the remainder of the work that doesn't get complete by LBA class 2018 will be continued by future LBA classes and other volunteer groups. Phase 2 work would include the awning, raised plant beds and other plantings. All work is proposed to be done by volunteers and donations. The improvements will become property of the City of Broken Arrow.
Work will be performed as volunteers through the City of Broken Arrow Parks and Recreation Use Agreement with the Broken Arrow Seniors Inc. All construction plans and specifications will be approved by the City of Broken Arrow Engineering and Construction Department prior to beginning work and will require inspection by the City of Broken Arrow for acceptance.
The primary user groups of The Main Place, Broken Arrow Seniors and Community Playhouse, are in support of the enhancement project.
