Title:

title

Award the most advantageous bid to S&S Powersports for the purchase of two (2) BMW Police Motorcycles

End

Background:

There is no state contract for the purchase of police motorcycles.  Two (2) police motorcycles are needed to replace the current police motorcycles being utilized by the traffic unit.  The necessity to replace the motorcycles includes the age, cost of maintenance, mileage and reliability.  The two motorcycles slated for replacement are 2009 year models.

The Purchasing Department solicited bids from twelve (12) vendors with two (2) vendors responding.  The recommended vendor is S&S Powersports, a local business located at 1700 Southwest Expressway Boulevard, Broken Arrow, OK.  The other responding vendor is not recommended for consideration due to the fact their price is substantially greater than that listed by S&S Powersports.

Funds have been appropriated and are available in the Public Safety Sales Tax.

Staff recommends that the bid be awarded to S&S Powersports.
