Background:
On February 12, 2018, Code Enforcement opened a case for a dilapidated structure at 2701 East Norman Place. An inspection showed the property to be in the following condition, which according to State Statute and City Ordinance meets the definition of a dilapidated structure and eligible for demolition: The mobile home has suffered extensive dilapidation, open holes in the exterior siding and soffits. The mobile home is missing skirting and has exposed plumbing and electrical wiring. The structure is not inhabitable. There has not been City water service since 09/08/2009. On February 12, 2018, A Notice to Abate a Nuisance Public Hearing for rehabilitation or demolition of the dilapidated structure was posted on the property and mailed certified to the property owner. There have been no applications filed for a building permit or a demolition permit.
On April 5, 2018 at the Nuisance Abatement Hearing Mr. Straton was granted a sixty (60) day extention to complete the needed improvements to the residence. Mr. Straton has worked on the exterior by applying paint and caulking. He has repaired or replaced siding and has worked on the roof. .
