Background:
On August 1, 2017, the City Council approved a Proclamation declaring the City of Broken Arrow as a Purple Heart City in recognition of the service and sacrifice of the men and women of Broken Arrow who have served our country.
The local Purple Heart chapter has requested a resolution from the City Council to provide to the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority in order to give the City of Broken Arrow permission to install two Purple Heart signs on the Creek Turnpike. The proposed locations of the signs are eastbound, on the section between Garnett Road and 129th E. Avenue, and westbound, located near the Evans Road overpass.
