Background:

On April 4, 2005, the Broken Arrow City Council passed an Ordinance creating a Judicial Nominating Committee. Broken Arrow Municipal Code Section 14-6 provides that the Committee is to be composed of five (5) lay members and four (4) attorneys. Committee Members serve for a term of three (3) years. The lay members are within their three (3) year term. All four (4) attorney positions are expired. The Ordinance provides that the Mayor is to appoint all attorney positions subject to the confirmation by the Council.

Mayor Thurmond has indicated he would like to nominate Robert Stubblefield, Jeff Steen, Mark Harper, and Travis Horton to fill the expiring attorney positions.
