Ratification of Workers’ Compensation Court Order for Virginia E. Shaw, Police Department Employee
End
Background:
The City received an Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Court Order for Virginia E. Shaw, an employee in the Police Department. The Court Order is presented for the City Council’s approval.
On October 1, 2013, Ms. Shaw sustained an injury as a result of cumulative trauma to the right and left hands. The court awarded Ms. Shaw 18% permanent partial impairment to the right hand and 18% permanent partial disability to the left hand. The court has determined that she is entitled to compensation totaling $25,581.60. The sum of $5,116.32 must be deducted from the award and paid to her attorney, Scott Tully.
The order directs the City to pay taxes in the sum of $703.49 and a filing fee in the sum of $140.00. These amounts will be placed on the payment list for council approval.
The City’s Workers’ Compensation Attorney advises that there is no basis for appeal and would recommend the Order be approved by the Council.
