Approval of bids received and award of the most advantageous bid to Casco Industries, Inc. for the purchase of five (5) Thermal Imaging Cameras for the Fire Department

Background:
The Fire Department has budgeted $40,000.00 in Public Safety Sales Tax funds for fiscal year 2018, to replace five of the department’s aging thermal imaging cameras. The Fire Department relies on this technology to quickly and efficiently locate both victims and fires when there is limited or no visibility because of smoke.
Specifications were determined and a solicitation to competitively bid the cameras were sent out by the Purchasing Department. In response, we received four sealed bids, three of which met all of the specifications the Fire Department identified. The lowest bid, meeting all specifications, was submitted by Casco Industries, Inc. for five of the MSA 6000 Plus Thermal Imaging Cameras.
This purchase will be made with Public Safety Sales Tax funds.
After reviewing all of the bids submitted, the Fire Department recommends awarding the bid to Casco Industries for five MSA 6000 Plus Thermal Imaging Cameras.
Cost: $37,785.00
