Background: In accordance with the bylaws of the Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation (BAEDC), the City Manager recommends the appointment of Dr. Steve Tiger to fill office D, on the Board of Directors. Article 2 of the BAEDC bylaws states the Corporation shall consist of nine (9) directors, three of whom shall be representative of, selected by, and from the following entities: The Broken Arrow City Council, the Broken Arrow Board of Education, and the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee. Nominations of Directors shall be made collaboratively by the Broken Arrow City Manager, the Broken Arrow Public Schools Superintendent, and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and be submitted to the Broken Arrow City Council, the Broken Arrow Public Schools School Board, and the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce respectively, for appointment. On June 25, 2012, Dr. Steve Tiger was named Tulsa Tech's Superintendent and CEO. Dr. Tiger leads an organization with approximately 1,000 full and part-time employees, over 5,000 full-time students, over 30,000 business and industry clients, six campuses and a $150-million-dollar budget. Dr. Tiger has over 20 years of experience as a professional educator and counselor. Dr. Tiger holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Central Oklahoma, along with a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and HR Development from Oklahoma State University.
