title

Consideration, discussion, and possible approval of and authorization to execute Amendment No. 3 to an Architect/Engineer Contract with CEC Corporation for Design of Florence Street Widening, Olive Avenue to Aspen Avenue (Project No. ST1410)

End

Background:

This is a project to widen Florence Street from Olive Avenue to Aspen Avenue from two lanes to three lanes for the west half mile and to five lanes for the east half mile.  There is a school located on the north side at the beginning at the half mile point to the east.  The plans were completed in 2014; however, general obligation bond funds to construct had not yet been sold.  The 2014 GO Bond construction funds will be available early in 2018 and the plans need to be updated to reflect changes made over the last three years including the addition of a signalized pedestrian crossing at the schools.

The work to be completed by this amendment is to add a sidewalk on the south side of the street from approximately Sta. 37+00 to Sta. 52+00 and add an HAWK crossing in the area of the school at approximately Sta. 46+00.
