Approval of and authorization to execute Change Order C01 for Construction Contract Number ST1708/176032, 4th Street Sidewalk, Detroit to Midway and East Kenosha Street Multipurpose Trail
End
Background:
This project is to add sidewalks to the west side of 4th Street from Detroit Street to Midway Street to provide a safe route for children walking to Rhodes Elementary School. Also included is completion of a multipurpose trail (wide sidewalk) on the north side of East Kenosha Street from approximately east of North 31st Street to North 33rd Street (the access road with sidewalks to the new elementary school), with an additive alternate to continue to North 37th Street (arterial street to Wal-Mart) for pedestrian access to these facilities. The project was advertised for bids on May 24 and May 31, 2017 with the lowest responsible bidder was Magnum Construction, Inc., with a base bid of $193,886.00 and an Additive Alternate No. 1 bid of $68,420.00, for a total of $262,307.00.

This Change Order C01 addresses the following additions to the contract:
1. Total Number of Days Added by this Change Order:
- No additional time required for this change.

2. Due to the fact the actual physical grades in the field vary a little from the topography used for design, the retaining wall quantity must be increased coupled with the fact that the plan quantity was slightly underestimated, the Kenosha Street Multipurpose Trail retaining wall sections are to be amended to the below quantities. The amended quantities report is attached and follows the attached projected quantities provided by the contractor. A reconciliatory change order will amend the contract value to the final quantities report.

The additional cost associated with these changes is as follows:
