Award the most advantageous bid to Hach Company for the purchase eleven (11) units of Hach turbidity meters for the Water Treatment Plant
End
Background:
The Utilities Department has budgeted for the purchase of eleven (11) Hach turbidity meters to replace existing units that are failing and becoming less accurate. Funds for the purchase are available in the Departmental Capital Outlay FY2018, Project No. 185415.

Ten units will be installed on the ten Pall microfiltration units to measure the filtered water turbidity levels on each filter rack. The eleventh unit shall be installed on the combined finished water line.

Complying with the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) turbidity standards for filtered water is a critical part of the treatment process. The turbidity meters continuously measure the filtered water turbidity levels for each rack and the turbidity level is collected at four hour intervals and reported to ODEQ in the Monthly Operational Report Summary.

Bid packages were sent to nine (9) vendors for the supply of eleven Hach Model TU5300SC low range laser turbidity meters. Only one bid was received from Hach Company. Staff has reviewed the bid received and identified the bid from Hach Company is complete and meets the specifications. The turbidity meters come with one year standard warranty and service.

Cost: $35,057.00
