Background:

The Strategic Plan of the Tourism Asset Inventory set forth recommendations to restructure the Broken Arrow Convention and Visitors’ Bureau (CVB).  Within those recommendations, the restructuring consisted of adding two additional Board Members to increase the board from seven members to nine members.  The two additional Board Members will be appointed by the Mayor allowing the Mayor a total of four appointed positions within the CVB.

The Strategic Plan also recommended the restructuring of the CVB to consist of members from lodging, dining, retail, sports, attractions and City Council.  This Ordinance incorporates these recommended changes.

City Council reviewed the preview ordinance at their regular meeting held October 3, 2017.
