Ratification of acceptance of the Victim of Crime Advocate Program Grant Award for Fiscal year 2017-2018 with the Oklahoma District Attorneys Council

Background:
The Police Department has been awarded a grant from the Oklahoma District Attorneys Council in the amount of $37,592.00. The total project cost is $46,990.00 with $37,592.00 to be reimbursed through the grant. The City will match 25 percent of the grant in the amount of $9,398.00 from the Police Department operational budget. Funding will be utilized in the following purpose areas: (1) Contractual full time Victim Advocate (2) Training and (3) Supplies and Operating Costs.
The proposed contractual funds will specifically provide a full time Victim Advocate, the training funds will be used for advocate training, and supplies and operating funds for door stops and books for distribution from our advocate.
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize acceptance of the grant award.
Cost: $46,990.00 ($37,592.00 grant funded)
