Consideration, discussion, and possible recommendation to the Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation to issue a Request for Proposal for an Economic Development Feasibility Study for the New Orleans and Elm Place corridor
End
Background:
The recent relocation of the Hobby Lobby from Vandever Acres Shopping Center is raising concern from area residents about the future for retail at the Elm and New Orleans corridor. The New Orleans and Elm corridor consists of Vandever Acres on the northwest corner, Vandever East on the northeast corner, Broken Arrow Towne Centre on the southwest corner and Janus IV Commercial Development on the southeast corner.
City staff and representatives from the Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation (BAEDC) recommend that the BAEDC should issue a Request for Proposal for a consultant to study the corridor and provide potential options to not only maintain, but possibly improve the economic viability of the area. If directed by City Council, the BAEDC will issue a Request for Proposal, seeking qualified consulting firms to study the corridor and make recommendations to City Council.
