Background:
37th Street: Omaha to Albany and Wagoner County Rural Water District No. 4 (RWD4) 209th Waterline is a 2014 General Obligation Bond project. 37th Street between Omaha and Albany is new roadway construction. The project was advertised with N. 37th Street new road as the base bid and RWD4 209th Waterline relocation as Additive Alternate No. 1 (16" Waterline Upgrade) and Additive Alternate No. 2 (10" Waterline Like-in-Kind).

The project was advertised for bids on March 8 and 15, 2017 with the lowest responsible bidder being Paragon Contractors, L.L.C., with a base bid of $2,851,158.00; Additive Alternate No. 1 of $564,465.00; Additive Alternate No. 2 of $361,163.00. The contract was awarded for the base bid and Additive Alternate No.1 in the amount of $3,415,623.00 ($3,212,321.00 after RWD4 reimbursement) to Paragon Contractors, L.L.C.

Funding for the improvements will be from the 2014 Streets GO Bond.

This Change Order #1 addresses the following additions to the contract:

Total Number of Days Added by this Change Order: Due to the additional scope of work, 14 calendar days shall be added to the contract revising the contract time to 284 calendar days.

Per the construction documents, the sewer force main between stations 18+50 and 22+50 to be lowered by "The City". City crews currently are working on other projects so in order not to incur additional delays, staff requested that the Contractor perform the work.
