Approval of and authorization to execute Amendment No. 1 to a Professional Consultant Agreement with Olsson Associates for Design of an Industrial Collector Street (East Nashville Street) and Water Line Extension (Project No. ED1701)

End

Background:

This is a project to build a two-lane Industrial Minor Collector Street (E. Nashville St.) to serve the Alfa Laval expansion, as well as undeveloped industrial areas to the east of 9th Street.  It will require the construction of approximately 2,700 linear feet of an Industrial Minor Collector Street in the vicinity of 9th Street between Houston Street and Washington Street on the east side.  A 12-inch water line will be extended from 9th Street east along the north side of the new street to connect to a 24-inch water main located on the east end of the project.

A conceptual plan and estimate was completed by Olsson Associates on May 17, 2017.  It recommended a two-lane Portland Cement concrete pavement Industrial Minor Collector Street with a cul-de-sac at the east end extending from 9th Street to the east property line of the Alfa Laval expansion.  A 12-inch water line extension was also recommended to provide adequate water to the new facility.  The $2,000,000.00 project estimated cost will be financed by Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) Industrial Access funds and City funds.

Cost:                                                                $165,000.00  (Total cost $192,000;  $27,000 previously approved)
