Approval of the recommended social services awards for Program Year (PY) 2017 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding and authorization to execute Social Services Contracts

End
Background:
In the tenth year of its participation in the Tulsa County Community Development Block Grant Urban County, the City of Broken Arrow is expected to receive $410,017 as its allocation of funds. This represents no change from the previous year's allocation.
The City has historically spent the allowed 15% of its allocation amount to fund social service organizations. For program year 2017, the City's 15% allocation will be $61,502 of the current year funding for social service programs which is the same as the prior year.
In May, applications were solicited from Broken Arrow social service providers. Applications were received from four providers, with funding requests totaling $53,964. The applications were evaluated based on program eligibility; population served, services to be provided, cost per beneficiary and compliance with grant requirements. Due to Margaret Hudson's inactivity in FY2016 the funds that were allotted in years past to that organization have been divided by the remaining four organizations on a percentage basis. The attached applications chart gives a brief synopsis of all the applications received and the recommendations for funding.
