Background:
This project is to install a new traffic signal at a 4-way arterial intersection currently controlled by north-southbound stop signs. 79th Street (Midway Road) is a 2-lane street and Kenosha is a 4-lane street. Included is the signal controller cabinet, 8-phase controller, mast arm poles, and pull boxes.
The project was advertised for bids on June 23 and June 30, 2017. Bids were opened on July 18, 2017 and three (3) bids were received. All bids were responsive. The Certified Bid Tabulation is attached. The lowest responsible bidder was Traffic & Lighting Systems, LLC, with a bid of $170,023.26. The engineer’s estimate was $173,746.39.
Staff recommends awarding the Bid in the amount of $170,023.26 to Traffic & Lighting Systems, LLC.
Funding for the improvements will be from Fund 42, Street Light Fund.
Cost: $170,023.26
