Background:
The Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation (EDC) will host free musical entertainment for the community in The Rose District each Thursday evening in The Rose District Pavilion.
The Broken Arrow EDC may select at their discretion; such musical artists it deems desirable. The City is waiving any and all applicable permits and corresponding fees. All music shall be turned on only during the hours of June 1, 2017 thru December 29, 2017 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. so as not to unduly interfere with the peace and quietude of the adjoining residential areas.
It is the event organizers' responsibility to cancel events due to pending or forecasted inclement weather and to notify all parties of the cancellation. Should inclement weather be an imminent public safety concern then the City of Broken Arrow Emergency Manager shall have authority to cancel the event.
If approved by City Council, funding will come from the Broken Arrow Convention and Visitors' Bureau Fiscal Year 2018 Budget, account 027-1700-419.40-28 Miscellaneous Contract Services, Rose District Musical Event Funding ($5,000.00 budgeted).
Staff recommends that the Council approve the Promotional License Agreement and authorize its execution.
