Approval of and authorization to execute a Professional Consultant Contract with Traffic Engineering Consultants, Inc., for a 2017 Update of Transportation System Operational Analysis (Project No. 175210)

Background:
Under a previous contract with the City in 2014, Traffic Engineering Consultants, Inc. (TEC) prepared a Transportation System Operational Analysis, which included traffic counts, projection of future traffic, and calculation of Level of Service (LOS) at all arterial streets and intersections in the City. In that study, future traffic projections were made for 2018 and 2023. With the upcoming bond election in 2018, Staff determined that an update of the study should be made to verify the 2018 projections and make new projections and Levels of Service for 2023 and 2028 in order to provide updated information for the 2018 Streets GO bond package. TEC submitted a proposal of $57,300.00 for the update. Engineering and Construction Department prepared the attached Professional Consultant Contract for that amount.
Funding for the project is from BAMA Engineering account.
