Background:
The Animal Control Division of the Police Department has received a professional service contract with Binu Ethevatheril D.V.M., a state licensed veterinarian for the City of Broken Arrow Animal Shelter. A pilot program was initiated with Jennifer Livesay D.V.M. approximately two years ago. The purpose of this service was to facilitate and further the Spay/Neuter program for the majority of animals adopted from the BA Animal Shelter. This program furthers the city's goal of reducing unwanted pet population. Dr. Livesay has decided not to renew her contract with the City of Broken Arrow and Dr. Ethevatheril is willing to continue the Spay/Neuter program.
Funds have been appropriated and are available in the Police Sales Tax Fund in the amount of $19,000 and within the STERIL fund in the amount of $17,000. The cost of service will be billed at $45.00 per dog, $30.00 per cat and $5.00 per rabies Vaccination with the maximum cost capped potential at $36,000.
Cost: $ 36,000
