Background:
The Streets Division of the Streets and Storm Water Department has budgeted for the purchase of one (1) one-ton crew cab pickup. This truck was authorized and approved for purchase at the January 17, 2017 Council meeting.

On May 3, the selling dealer contacted the Purchasing Manager with the news that the pricing of the 4-wheel drive option we selected on this vehicle was in error. Price was listed as $1,427 and should have been $5,680, a $4,253 error. The error was not corrected when the pricing schedule was published in the state wide contract pricing list. Additionally, he could not make any consessions to keep within the pricing as issued with our Purchase Order and would have to reject the Purchase Order issued to them.

The Purchasing Manager has adjusted the price tabulation with the pricing error from Bob Howard Dodge corrected. With the option price corrected, this truck is now not the lowest price of those available in the state contract for this type of truck. The lowest price truck is a Ford F-350 from Vance Country Ford.

The bid tabulation includes the lowest bidding vendors for the all the brands of one-ton trucks under this contract. Pricing under this contract is good until November 14, 2017.
