Background:
The City of Broken Arrow operates and host a Harris Corporation P25 Phase 2/OpenSky Land Mobile Radio communications system for critical communications for various city departments. In addition to providing critical communications for Broken Arrow Police, Fire and Public Works departments the communications also provide the same communications for the cities of Bixby, Glenpool, Jenks, Wagoner as well as Wagoner and Rogers counties.

The upgrade is a multi-faceted project including infrastructure and terminal upgrades and replacements used by first responders in the field.

The infrastructure upgrades include replacement of the primary and secondary cores. This upgrade will improve functionality of the network and replace critical core network components that run on a 24/7/365 basis. This upgrade also adds one five channel P25 Phase 2 communications site to be located at the City of Broken Arrow Water Plant to enhance coverage in the far eastern service area of Broken Arrow. Also included in the upgrade is the replacement of the existing C3 Maestro IP dispatch consoles that are currently being used by the Broken Arrow Pubic safety dispatch center.
