Background:
The Information Technology Department sought bids for one (1) Digital Radio Test Set. Six (6) vendors were solicited to bid and one (1) bid was received. Aeroflex Wichita, Inc. submitted a bid for one (1) Cobham 8800SX Digital Radio Test Set which meets the specifications of the bid.
The Digital radio test set will allow the communications division of the Information Technology Department to preform maintenance on the city’s Harris P25 Phase 2 communications system infrastructure as well as terminal units that are in the field to stay with in manufacture specifications and required Federal Communications Commission regulations.
The bid for the Cobham 8800SX Digital Radio Test Set with chosen options is $45,543.44. Funds for this purchase have been appropriated and are available in the Sales Tax Capital Improvement Fund in the available amount of $50,000.00 within Project Number 171108, Account Number 030-1103-419.70-18
