Background:
The Indian Springs Sports Complex (ISSC) Additional Soccer Field Lighting is a 2014 General Obligation Bond Quality of Life Proposition project. The purpose of the project is to improve electric service and provide lighting on the existing ISSC soccer fields west of Aspen Avenue. The bid documents included a Base Bid to improve electrical service to four soccer fields and adult softball fields, new electrical service to three other fields, and installation, wiring, and light fixtures to illuminate three additional fields. Additive Alternates No. 1, 2, and 3 would to provide lighting for two other fields and replacement of lighting on two additional fields.
The project was advertised for bids on April 12, 2017. Bids were opened on May 9, 2017. Two (2) bids were received. The low bidder was TGE, Inc. with a bid of $456,521.00 for the Base Bid, $123,846.60 for Additive Alternate No. 1, $128,366.80 for Additive Alternate No. 2, and $151,472.00 for Additive Alternate No. 3. The engineer's estimate was $442,730.00 for the Base Bid, $136,200.00 for Additive Alternate No. 1, $97,100.00 for Additive Alternate No. 2, and $153,600.00 for Additive Alternate No. 3. The certified bid tabulation is attached. Staff recommends award of the Base Bid and Additive Alternate 1 for the ISSC Additional Soccer Field Lighting to TGE, Inc., in the amount of $580,367.00.
Funds for the work are available in the 2014 GO Bond Quality of Life Proposition.
