Background:
The Chisolm Park South (Events Park) East Access Road is a 2011 General Obligation Bond, Quality of Life Proposition, project. The project is part of the overall park infrastructure and will provide a secondary access to the park from the northeast corner along East 219th Street South and State Highway 51. This road will connect the park infrastructure to the existing public roads in the neighboring industrial park.
The project was advertised for bids on April 18, 2017. Bids were opened on May 9, 2017. Seven (7) bids were received. The low bidder was Cherokee Pride Construction, Inc., with a bid of $153,611.00. The engineer's estimate was $203,177.00. The certified bid tabulation is attached. Staff recommends award of the Events Park East Access Road to Cherokee Pride Construction, Inc. in the amount of $153,611.00.
Funds for the work are available in the 2011 GO Bond, Quality of Life Proposition.
