Approval of and authorization to purchase 14 car radios for police vehicles from Harris Corporation pursuant to the Oklahoma Statewide Contract (SW1053H) for Police Department
End
Background:
In the April 4th, 2017 City Council meeting, the Council approved the purchase of 9 new police patrol vehicles and 7 new unmarked sedans. The police department is in need of 14 radios to outfit the majority of these vehicles. Law Enforcement Agencies throughout the State of Oklahoma are able to purchase these radios at the state contract price, which is advantageous to the political subdivisions by allowing them to make the purchases at a lower price. The City of Broken Arrow has had a continued relationship with Harris Corporation for radios to include all police, fire, and citywide radio systems. In order to maintain compatibility, operability, and functionality with our current system, the Harris Corporation radios are the best available option.
Funds have been appropriated and are available in the Public Safety Sales Tax Fund in the amount of $53,716.74.
Cost: $53,716.74
