Approval of and authorization to execute Engineering Contract Funding Agreement Amendment #1 with Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) for engineering services involving Broken Arrow Creek Trail Project #146020
End
Background:
The City of Broken Arrow applied for Surface Transportation Program (STP) Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) funds for two trails project in Broken Arrow. The City was successful in obtaining STP - TAP funds for both projects, including design of the Broken Arrow Creek Trail in south Broken Arrow. The trail selected was listed in the INCOG GO Plan and extends from the Liberty Parkway Trail north to Broken Arrow Public School Freshman Academy.

The Freshman Academy is undergoing some site changes including revisions to the bus entrance and loop. RL Shears, the AE firm originally selected to design the trail, has provided a fee proposal to revise the trail alignment and change the crossing of West New Orleans Street from a HAWK (High-intensity Activated crossWalK) signal to a convention traffic signal at the intersection of West New Orleans Street and South First Place to accommodate the revisions to the Freshman Academy.

This item is an ODOT - City of Broken Arrow agreement for our 25% share ($5,825.00) of the funding. With this ODOT agreement the City agrees to manage the ODOT A/E contract. After ODOT receives this signed agreement they will execute it along with the A/E contract with R.L. Shears.

Funding will be from Parks and Recreation Capital Improvements.
