Approval of bids received, award the lowest responsible bid to Magnum Construction, Inc., and authorization to execute a construction contract for Arrowhead Park Softball Shade Structures (Project No. 166014)

Background:
When the contract for expansion of the Arrowhead Park Softball Fields was awarded in 2012, the wrap-around shade structures over the dugouts and bleachers were not included due to funding limitations. Funds for the shade structures were budgeted this year, and a contract to provide and install them was advertised for bids on January 11 and 18, 2017. Bids were opened on February 1, 2017. Four bids were received. The low bidder was Magnum Construction Inc., with a bid of $86,400.00. The engineer’s estimate was $76,000.00. The certified bid tabulation is attached. Staff recommends award of the Arrowhead Park Softball Shade Structures to Magnum Construction Inc. in the amount of $86,400.00.
Funds for the work are available in Parks Capital Improvements.
