Background:

The Indian Nations Council of Governments (INCOG) is receiving applications for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2020 Surface Transportation Program (STP) funds.  The completed application and accompanying City Council resolution are due by January 31, 2017.  Engineering and Construction Staff have prepared a draft application for STP funds to supplement the 2014 Streets General Obligation Bond funds for Olive Avenue Widening from Kenosha to Albany (attached).  CEC Company is under contract to prepare a preliminary plan and cost estimate in time to include the estimate in the application.  The City Council resolution is attached.  The estimated cost is left blank, pending receipt of the cost estimate from the A/E, but we anticipate that it will be from $5.5 to $6.0 million.  Staff requests that the Mayor’s signing of the resolution be delayed until after the cost estimate blank is filled in, shortly before the January 31 deadline.

Funding for the City Share of the project is from the 2014 Streets GO Bond.

Cost:                                                                $2,300,000 (estimated City share)
