Presentation and discussion of signal work at Detroit Street and Aspen Avenue in association with Construction Contract Number ST1203, Aspen, Houston to Kenosha Mill and Overlay
End
Background:
As part of the Aspen Avenue, Houston to Kenosha Mill and Overlay project, the intersection of Detroit and Aspen traffic signal is getting a new control cabinet and concrete pedestal. In order to complete this work, the signal heads will have to be shut down completely and electric disconnected to the signals completely. The intersection will then be required to go to a full 4-way stop with hard stop signs with a flashing light connected. The duration of this 4-way stop situation will be approximately 3 days starting on January 17th and lasting through the 19th.
To notify the traveling public of the upcoming work, notifications will be posted through the City of Broken Arrow Communications Department. Digital message board signs will be posted north and south of the intersection along Aspen starting on January 9th. Traffic impacts at this intersection are expected to be mild during the daytime and moderate during rush hours.
