Presentation regarding the Broken Arrow Police Department Pedestrian and Motorists Safety Campaign

Background:
Within the past three months, the Broken Arrow Police Department responded to three collisions involving students who were on their way to or from School. One of these collisions resulted in a fatality of a 15-year-old student. As a result of these accidents, the Broken Arrow Police Department has partnered with the community, the Broken Arrow Public School System and the media in hopes of providing traffic safety information to motorists, students and the general public to help prevent and reduce collisions involving pedestrians. This traffic safety initiative includes the following:
• Distribution of safety material to the public
• Meeting with School Administrators
• Community Meetings
• Classroom Instruction
• Increased Traffic Enforcement
