Background:
The Center for Arts, Innovation, & Creativity (CAIC) is a 2014 General Obligation Bond project (repurposed from the 2008 GO Bond), with supplemental funding from Vision 2025 Surplus funds. The CAIC will be located on the southwest corner of Dallas Street and Main Street on the site of the old Arkansas Valley Bank. The CAIC could house visual arts (painting, drawing, sculpture), performing arts, culinary arts, and others.

Following a selection process in which the ARTSOK - The Regional Arts Alliance of Broken Arrow members and City Staff participated, Selser Schaefer Architects was selected for preparation of a concept design. Because private fundraising efforts are ongoing, it was decided to prepare the concept design in three phases, (1) Programming of the ultimate facility, approximately 30,000 square feet in size, and the phases of development; (2) Concept design of the initial facility, approximately 18,000 square feet; and (3) Concept design of the ultimate facility.

City staff negotiated an agreement with the Architect to prepare the three phases of the design, resulting in a price of $13,750 for phase 1 (programming), $38,750 for phase 2 (18,000 SF building), and $61,750 for phase 3 (30,000 SF building), for a total of $114,250.00. The agreement is attached.

Funding for this project is from the 2014 General Obligation Bond and Vision 2025.
