Review of bids received, award of the lowest responsible bid to Magnum Construction, Inc., and approval of and authorization to execute a construction contract for Broken Arrow Historical Museum, 3rd Floor Canopy (Project No. 156025)
End
Background:
The Broken Arrow Historical Museum, 3rd Floor Canopy project involves the addition of a steel and aluminum frame with a canvas cover canopy over the 3rd floor main balcony at the back of the building and the addition of an aluminum frame with canvas cover awning over the 3rd floor, small, secondary balcony at the front of the building. The museum has been plagued by leaks when it rains and the canopies are being added in an effort to alleviate the water leaks. In addition, the balconies will provide covered, outdoor, entertainment space that overlooks the Rose District and the Farmers Market Interactive Water Feature, thus increasing the potential for event rental business.

The project was advertised for bids on October 20 and 27, 2016. Bids were opened on November 15, 2016. Two (2) bids were received. The low bidder, Magnum Construction, Inc., submitted a bid of $147,800.00. The Architect's estimate was $150,500.00. The Certified Bid Tabulation is attached. Staff recommends award of the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Magnum Construction, Inc.

Funding for this project is from the 2011 General Obligation Bond.
