Background:
Mayor Craig Thurmond has been awarded the prestigious Mayor of the Year Award for 2016 by the Mayors Council of Oklahoma. The Statewide recognition of the Mayor’s dedication and many accomplishments since 2001 was presented at the Oklahoma Municipal Leagues’ Conference Awards Banquet on September 15th, 2016 in Oklahoma City.
The Mayor’s support for economic development has not only helped to produce a thriving community but a quality of life that Broken Arrow is known for. His dedication to office has become well known throughout the State as he servers on 18 local and regional boards, councils, and committees extending to the National Level as an appointed member of the National Election Task Force; a bipartisan task force to raise awareness of city issues.
