Approval of bids received and award of the most advantageous bid to United Rentals for the purchase of a remote control Bomag Model BMP 8500 Trench Compactor for the Streets and Stormwater Department

Background:
The Streets and Stormwater Department sought bids for a Trench Compactor. Sixteen vendors were solicited, and a total of nine responded. Six of the nine vendors met specifications. United Rentals submitted a bid for a Bomag Model BMP 8500 meeting specifications and is the lowest responsible bidder. Base pricing and warranty information are reflected in the attached bid tabulation. The bid tabulation also includes all vendors submitting bids for these trucks.
Staff has reviewed the bids received and recommends an award to United Rentals as they were the lowest responsible bidder.
The Streets and Stormwater Department has budgeted for the purchase of the trench compactor. Funds for this purchase are available in the BAMA Capital Outlay Fund in the amount of $32,000.00. (Project No. 175306)
