Background:

The Final Flood Elevation Letter of Determination for the Tulsa County and Incorporated Areas and Wagoner County and Incorporated Areas FIS and DFIRMs was issued by FEMA on March 30, 2016. The public review and appeals period of the flood studies are complete. Detailed studies were performed on floodplains within the Spunky Creek and Tributaries and Broken Arrow Creek and Tributaries watersheds within the City of Broken Arrow. All affected communities within Tulsa County and Wagoner County participating in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) are required to adopt the revised floodplain boundaries and floodplain study by the effective date of September 30, 2016 in order to remain a participant in the NFIP. This Ordinance revises the City of Broken Arrow Code Chapter 25, Section 25-304(a)(1) for adopting the Tulsa County and Wagoner County FIS and DFIRMs.
