Background:
On September 6, 2016, the Broken Arrow City Council passed a preview ordinance to amend Chapter 2, Administration, Article XIV, Convention and Visitors’ Bureau (CVB), Sec. 2-212 Appointments, specifically staggering the terms of the CVB. CVB terms shall be for a term of two years, with the exception of position 3, which will be for a one-year term for the year of 2016.
The CVB currently has five terms expiring September 30, 2016. Staff consulted with City Council and each Councilor requested that their CVB member’s term be renewed. Terms will be for two years with the exception of Position 3, which will be for one year to allow for the implementation of staggered terms for the CVB. Staff is requesting approval of the following reappointments to the CVB:
