Approval of and authorization to execute a Promotional License Agreement on City Property allowing Cox Communications to host the 2016 Cox Community Concert Event
End

Background:
Cox Communications will be hosting the Cox Community Concert at Chisholm Trail Park, Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. until approximately 11:00 p.m. Twelve thousand free tickets are now available at all Tulsa-area Cox Solutions Stores on a first come, first served basis. In addition, fans are asked to donate a non-perishable food item for each ticket. All food donations will benefit Broken Arrow Neighbors.

The City will be playing an active role in the planning and hosting of this event. The Special Events Committee in their meeting of July 7, 2016 approved their request for Special Event permit. Setup for the event will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 22 and continue until opening. Gates will open to the public at 6:00 p.m. September 23rd and the event will conclude at approximately 11:00 p.m. that same day. Headlining for the event will be Platinum recording artist Rodney Adkins. Also joining him on stage will be Craig Campbell and local talent Thomas Martinez.

Some of Tulsa's favorite food trucks will be on site offering food, beer and soft beverages for purchase. A percentage of all food and beverage sales will be donated to Cox Charities, an employee funded foundation that funds community and education grants throughout Northeastern Oklahoma. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to the performance as no seating will be provided.

Staff recommends approval of the Promotional Licensing Agreement.
