Background:

The City of Broken Arrow Zoning Code provides for temporary space for residential accessory use following the destruction of a building by fire, catastrophic event and/or remodel or rehabilitation efforts.  This includes storage containers including POD containers or trash containers including dumpsters.  The current ordinance allows for said containers to be permitted for one hundred eighty (180) days or for the life of a valid building permit, whichever ends first.

The preview ordinance changes the existing ordinance by allowing said containers to be permitted for a period of ninety (90) days or for the life of a valid building permit, whichever ends first, with the possibility of an extension for an additional ninety (90) day period if approved in writing by the Director of Development Services.
