Background:

The City’s current Ordinance codified as Section 2-115 provides that Planning Commission members shall be appointed by various Councilmembers.  This Ordinance is not in compliance with State law.  Title 11 O.S. Section 45-102 calls for the nomination of all members of the Planning Commission to be made by the Mayor and confirmed by the governing body of the municipality.  The proposed change to Broken Arrow Code, Section 2-115 will bring the ordinance into compliance with State law.
