Background:
This Ordinance makes changes to the evaluation date and criteria used to evaluate Department Directors. Revisions to the Ordinance provide that Department Directors will be evaluated on an annual basis, no later than July 31. Revisions also provide that Directors will be evaluated based upon traditional leadership tenets. Unchanged provisions involve minimum and maximum compensation, evaluation solely on the basis of performance, and step increases for Directors whose performance is consistently competent.
Staff recommends that the Council adopt Ordinance No. 3442.
