Approval of a Workers' Compensation Court Order for Travis Blevins, a Police Department employee
End
Background:
The City received an Oklahoma Workers' Compensation Court Order for Travis Blevins, a Police Department employee. The court's Order is presented for the City Council's approval.

Mr. Blevins injured his lumbar spine on June 28, 2013, as a result of cumulative trauma due to repetitive police work. He was released to maximum medical improvement on April 22, 2015.

The court found Mr. Blevins sustained a 27% permanent partial impairment to lumbar spine. In addition, the court has also determined that Mr. Blevins suffered serious and permanent disfigurement to the left hip, for which he was awarded a sum of $1,000.00. The court has determined that he is entitled to compensation totaling $44,605.00. The accrued portion of the award which is $21,672.00 must be paid in a lump sum and the balance will be paid at the rate of $323.00 per week. The sum of $8,921.00 must be deducted from the award and paid to his attorney, Scott Tully.

The order directs the City to pay taxes in the sum of $1,206.64 and a filing fee in the sum of $140.00. These amounts are included on the payment list for council approval.

The City's Worker' Compensation Attorney advises that there is no basis for appeal and would recommend the Order be approved and placed in line for payment.
