Approval of and authorization to purchase an excavator from GW VanKepple pursuant to the Oklahoma Statewide Construction Equipment Contract for the Stormwater Division of the Streets and Stormwater Department

Background:
The Stormwater Division budgeted for a new excavator to be added to their fleet. A project and associated funding has been provided for in the Broken Arrow Municipal Authority Capital Improvement Fund in the amount of $193,000.00. This machine will be purchased under the Oklahoma Statewide Contract for construction equipment SW192.

Title 60, Section 176 of the Oklahoma Statutes addresses the purchases of Public Trusts. It provides that equipment or materials may be purchased by a Public Trust directly from any contract duly awarded by this state or any state agency under the Oklahoma Central Purchasing Act, or from any contract duly awarded by a governmental entity which is the beneficiary of the Public Trust. All State Departments, Boards, Commissions, Agencies and Institutions, as well as Counties, School Districts and Municipalities may purchase vehicles from this contract. Pricing under this contract is good until May 28, 2016.

The Stormwater Division recommends the lowest bid from GW Van Kepple for a Volvo ECR 145E execavator as the most advantageous bid. Base pricing and selected options for the machine is reflected in the attached bid tabulation. The bid tabulation includes all vendors submitting bids for this truck under this contract.

Cost: $149,750.00
