Background:
On September 20, 2022 the City Council passed and approved Ordinance 3746, adopting the 2018 International Residential Code and the 2020 National Electrical Code.
On April 16, 2024 City Council passed and approved Ordinance 3826-Corrected, the ordinance was intended to only remove the requirement for contractors to deposit and maintain an escrow account balance to utilize the permitting services of the City of Broken Arrow. The passage of this ordinance unintentionally changed the City’s adopted electrical code from the 2020 National Electrical Code back to the 2017 National Electrical Code.
Approval of this ordinance will change the adopted electrical code back to the 2020 National Electrical Code.
City Council reviewed the preview ordinance at their regular meeting held on October 1, 2024.
