Background:
The proposed project is located in the Stone Wood Crossing subdivision north of E Albany St and west of N Elm Pl
From 901-913 W Fargo Dr, there appears to be groundwater seeping through driveways and sidewalks. The groundwater contains iron, which has turned the driveways and sidewalks red. The iron in the groundwater has also caused algae to form in certain areas, causing a potential slipping hazard. Staff investigated the site and found iron containing groundwater has caused staining and algae to form along the gutter and on some driveways and sidewalks. This area flows to Haikey Creek
Staff is requesting $55,000.00 of the 2018 GO Bond, Proposition 6 for installation of a drainage system to transport the groundwater to the storm sewer system.
On June 26, 2023 the Drainage Advisory Committee reviewed and recommends to City Council to approve the request for $55,000.00 in 2018 GO Bond, Proposition 6 funds for mitigating ground water expulsion and to route the water to the nearest Storm Sewer inlet (Case 23-002) contingent upon an easement being provided to the City from homeowners.
